Pre-Requisites:
- Google Nexus 7 Wi-Fi/3G running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Firmware and Nexus 7 should be factory unlocked. (Recommended)
- Make backup of all your important data and charge your tablet battery full
- Install USB drivers on you computer for Nexus 7.
- Enable USB debugging mode on tablet to enable usb debugging mode Press Menu > Settings > Applications Development and check USB Debugging Mode so that you can connect Android device with computer and use Android SDK
Requirement:
Instruction Root Nexus 7 Wi-Fi/3G on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with CF-Auto-Root:
- Download and install Android SDK from Android Developer site on your computer.
- Next download CF-Auto-Root file for the Nexus 7 "CF-Auto-Root for Nexus 7 Wi-Fi" or "CF-Auto-Root for Nexus 7 3G" depending on your model on your computer and extract the downloaded CF-Auto-Root package using extracting tool like winrar,winzip or any that you prefer.
- Now Switch off Nexus 7 and Boot Nexus tablet into Fastboot Mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons
- When the phone boots in Fastboot Mode Connect Nexus 7 to computer using USB cable. Wait till Windows to complet installing drivers.
- Now go to the folder where you have extracted CF-Auto-Root files and then run following commands.
- Run root-windows.bat
- chmod +x root-linux.sh
- Run root-linux.sh
- chmod +x root-mac.sh
- Run root-mac.sh
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to root your tablet. Once rooting process is completed successfully, tablet will boot into normal mode.
